WHY WE HAVE A METHOD

Most remodels go wrong before demo even starts.

The most common reason a remodel goes over budget, over schedule, or over your patience isn't the trades — it's the lack of a plan. Decisions that should have been made in week one get made in week four, when changing them costs real money. Trades show up without knowing what the trade before them did. Nobody's keeping score.

Austin ProBuild runs every project on a defined process because a defined process is the only way to deliver a predictable outcome. The five steps below are not suggestions. They're the standard we hold every project to, regardless of size or scope.

THE FIVE STEPS

Step 01
Consultation Call
After you reach out, we start with a quick call — usually 20 to 30 minutes. We want to understand your goals, your timeline, and the general scope of what you're trying to accomplish. We'll ask the right questions, and we'll tell you honestly whether Austin ProBuild is the right fit for your project.
No cost. No obligation.
Step 02
Walkthrough & Rough Estimate
If it's a fit, we schedule an on-site walkthrough to see the space firsthand — confirm scope, identify constraints, and ask the questions that only come up in person. After the walkthrough, we provide a rough estimate and outline what's needed to move into planning.
This is where most contractors stop. We're just getting started.
Step 03
Build Ready Planning
This is the step that separates a well-run remodel from a chaotic one. Before anything gets torn out, we co-develop your Build Ready plan: final scope, material selections and allowances, trade schedule, logistics, and budget expectations — all documented and agreed to before demo begins.

No ambiguity going into the build means fewer surprises coming out of it.
Step 04
Managed Build
Once planning is locked, we mobilize. We coordinate every trade partner as one team — plumbers, electricians, tile setters, carpenters, painters — with clear handoffs and a shared schedule. Every change goes through a written change order. You'll hear from us weekly with a plain-English update: what was completed, what's next, and anything that needs your attention.
You don't manage the build. We do.
Step 05
Walkthrough, Punch & Closeout
As the build wraps, we create a punch list of every item that needs to be completed or corrected before we call the job done. We walk the finished space with you — every room, every detail — and we don't close out until every item on that list is signed off. Clean finish. No loose ends.
The job isn't done until you say it is.
